Supporting the childcare & educational needs of students throughout Santa Barbara County,  from early childhood through the transition to college, including those students who are traditionally underserved.

Defined broadly to include childcare/preschool, kindergarten – 12^th grades, transition to college; educational enrichment programs such as arts, science, environment; mental health; diversity/equity/inclusion/access; after school & summer programming

Supporting the mental health needs of children, families, and adults throughout Santa Barbara County.

Defined broadly to include behavioral wellness initiatives, organizations providing direct mental health services, residential treatment programs, organizations addressing addiction/substance abuse, specialty clinics, outreach, and school-based mental health programs, especially those supporting underrepresented populations in the mental health field.

Supporting the Communities of Santa Barbara County – limited & by invitation-only.

Defined broadly to include organizations that improve the lives of those living in Santa Barbara County such as social service agencies. May also include those organizations that hold a place that is near and dear to the heart of Michael Towbes and the Towbes Family.

Investing in emergent/critical needs for the long-term benefit of Santa Barbara County limited & by invitation-only.

Defined broadly to include emergency community response, planning and preparation for emergency response, and other emergent needs critical to Santa Barbara County.

Alternative types of charitable investments or larger grant opportunities identified by the Foundation – limited & by invitation only.

Defined broadly to include program-related investments (PRIs), nonprofit office space with below market rental rates, multi-year/larger grants for targeted collaboratives and/or special-interest projects.
